Out and about in London, pt.2

More photos from London! I have to say, making these posts makes me miss it so much...

I don't know if I mentioned this before, but the main reason for this trip was the Blur reunion concert in Hyde Park. Even Frank the Rabbit made an appearance! :) There were a few other support bands, the only decent picture was of Florence and the machine though, she was amazing! Blur were great, they defined '90s for me and they played all their hit songs, the whole crowd was going wild! We missed you, guys!

While we were there, we learned about an exhibition of nude photographs of Madonna, which she posed for when she was a struggling dancer and we decided to check it out. The gallery was tiny, and the photographs were on sale for thousands of pounds, so we made do with couple of postcards. It's uncanny how much Lourdes looks like a younger version of her mother!

Michael Jackson memorial wall on Piccadilly Circus. Filled with photos, letters and flowers.

Covent Garden and Leicester Square, the area full of cinemas and theaters.

We didn't go to any musicals though, instead opted for Waiting for Godot, with Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen. Superb play and great performances, we really enjoyed it.

Walking back to our hotel, we saw a cute sex ad on the pavement. So, if you're looking for a leggy blonde, you know what to do.

10 things you don't know about me

The ever lovely Gabbi passed me on a few awards she received. So, thank you Gabbi very much! One of the awards requests that the receiver shares "10 things you don't know about me" So, you're in for a treat!

1. I'm left-handed, and I'm the only one in my family. Both my parents are right-handed and noone in my extended family is left-handed which I'm told is quite rare.
2. I'm not really good at organising myself and my stuff, but when I do I find it really therapeutic. But more often than not, procrastinating wins.
3. I love drinking alcohol. I'm a sucker for colourful cocktails in the summer.
4. I love stupid, "guy" movies, like Anchorman, The Wedding Crashers, Dodgeball, Superbad, The Hangover and horror movies.
5. I have more guy friends than girl friends. I like guys more although I'm quite a girly girl.
6. I speak 4 languages but I'm afraid I'll forget them because I don't practice.
7. I was a vegetarian when I was a teenager, for about 6 years. But then, I missed meat.
8. Although I love romance, fairy tales, and love stories, I'm quite cynical in real life.
9. I can't drive (yet!) but I love long car rides.
10. I love sleeping and dreaming. Dreams fascinate me.

I want to pass on these awards to the following people

Nina
Chloe in the sky with diamonds
Lopi
C.
Mademoiselle Myrtilo

Out and about in London, pt.1

Another photo-heavy post from London. This time, it's photos from our walks.

Take That's cover on Time Out. Aaaah, the memories!!

This mini donut was just resting there. When we walked back again it was gone. I wonder if someone actually ate it.

Lovely park, at the Natural History museum.

Ice-cream truck, on our way to the V&A museum.

Graffiti on our way to Portobello Market.

Potobello Market, very crowded and filled with little treasures!

On our way to the Michael Hoppen gallery. It was quite a lovely area.

Stay tuned for Part 2!

My life with Maggie

While in London, we visited the Michael Hoppen Gallery to watch the exhibition " Life with Maggie", by Ofer Wolberger. You can read more about it here , the lovely post by Gabbi that inspired me. The gallery was small and charming, and the exhibition was short but sweet. We were the only ones there visiting, but I guess that was to be expected since it was a Monday morning after all. I managed to get some pictures, it was hard because of the reflective glass but I hope you'll get an idea!

I have to say we struggled a bit to find the gallery, we got a little lost and had to ask for directions twice but it was well worth it. Getting lost in such a pretty area certainly wasn't a bad thing! We wandered around, taking pictures and having a laugh. A great way to spend a Monday morning, for sure!

Victoria and Albert Museum

After my culinary adventures, it's time for some culture! We were lucky enough that the V&A museum was just a short-ish walk away from the hotel so we dedicated an entire morning to it. And let me tell you, a morning isn't nearly enough! The museum is huge, and for that we only visited two galleries, Fashion and Theatre & Performance. I took a lot of photos but the lighting was dim so I had to choose the best. First, Fashion.

Just a small selection of the clothes in the gallery. We saw some amazing gowns, menswear, underwear, sportwear, you name it. The place was busy with fashion students sketching dress details. Very inspiring!

There were a few blown-up images on the walls, from various photoshoots. I'm sure you all recognised Twiggy!

Shoes, shoes, shoes! Seriously, who could resist?

Yay for silliness! Next up, Theatre and Performance gallery.

Pete Townshend (Who) smashed this guitar.

Kylie Minogue's dressing room.

V&A's beautiful garden.

And that concludes our virtual tour!
