Giveaway!

I'm leaving for London on Thursday (yay!) so there'll be some time before I return to my blog. I decided as a treat to leave you with a giveaway. There will be two winners, the first one will win these 3 pairs of earrings

The first one is aluminum lavender roses, the second vintage plastic baby blue hearts and the third one vintage lucite dots. All earrings are mounted on stainless steel studs.

The second winner will get this ring

It is made with a vintage polka dot cabochon and a silvertone adjustable ring.

I can almost hear you... "Aaah, stop tempting me! How do I win these works of art? " Well, fear not dear readers, it's very simple!

All you have to do is leave a comment here telling me your favourite movie quote. It doesn't have to be a classic, just your personal favourite one. I'd love some inspiration for my film/picture posts, so really you'd be helping me!

The contest will run until Sunday 12 July. I will draw names and post the winners here on Monday 13 July. Please, feel free to spread the word around via twitter, posting on your blog or shouting from the rooftops!

Good luck and see you soon!

Animal instinct

Things are pretty hectic business-wise at the moment, so without much time for blogging I wanted to share with you these pictures from the Museum of Natural History in NYC. Amazing 3-d dioramas for your viewing pleasure. Click pics to enlarge.

Pretty cool, huh?

I'm too tired not to be with you

We were frightened of being left alone for the rest of our lives. Only people of a certain disposition are frightened of being alone for the rest of their lives at the age of 26…we were of that disposition.

Awards Season

It's that time of the year again!

Haha, not really. But, I received two awards recently and I wanna say a huge thank you to the people who gave them to me. Firstly, to Sarah and to the Etsy Greek Street Team for the "Lovely Blog Award". And then of course, to the darling Gabbi for the "You're a great read" one, created by Diana .

I made a nice column to the right to display them, kinda like a mantelpiece. I realised that a lot of the people that I wanted to give them the awards have already accepted them, so just look at the "Lovely Blogs" column and if you see yourself there, consider yourself awarded!

Thank you again girls for the precious awards! I wish I'd prepared a speech...

The randomness strikes again

It's so hot right now I can barely function. I'm daydreaming about beaches, tunics and cocktails. My mum has borrowed my camera, and I have to say that I miss it! There are lots of jewellery ready to be photographed, and edited, and listed...I'm also thinking of doing a giveaway, but not sure what piece yet, and if I should host it here or on another blog. Hmm...

Last night was great. We went to a concert, then for drinks and food. It was fun, and good music plus good company made up for the heat and uncomfortable seats.

My dog just let out a loud yawn. I guess the heat gets to her as well.

Sweetness follows

I've been kinda disappointed with people lately. It's always sad when others don't live up to your expectations. And by expectations, I mean just common decency and the minimum of respect. Is it really that much to ask?

But then, something small happens, something sweet, a smile or a touch, and you gain back your faith to people. Something like that happened last night. *smiles*

Onwards and upwards.

Which way is home?

Roslyn: How do you find your way back in the dark?
Gay: Just head for that big star straight on. The highway's under it. It'll take us right home.

Shoes make everything better

So, here are the shoes I got yesterday. I had a fun day, making stops for coffee and dessert and after lots of window shopping I finally came home with these sweeties. Love them, they're comfy and cute enough to get me out of my Havaianas.

Now I'm only one pedicure away from showing them off!

Sweet treats

National Donut Day was June 8, hope you excuse the delay. Wanting to treat myself yesterday, I got these yummy donuts (chocolate filled on the left, plain glazed on the right) and iced coffee from a local coffee shop. They made for a nice afternoon treat.

I'm going shopping today for shoes, I really want some new sandals. Hopefully there'll be something good in the stores. Wish me luck!

The lonely red

It must be hard to be the only bold-coloured one in a bunch of pastels.

You do stand out though.

Penny and Billy

I can't even begin to describe how much I love Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog . So it's only fitting that I have Penny and Billy dancing as my wallpaper. Plus, I have a huge crush on Neil Patrick Harris.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about and the name Joss Whedon doesn't ring a bell, don't worry about it. You're just missing out on the world's most amazing creator, no biggie! :p

What I really want to see though are your wallpapers! What picture adorns your computer?

Randomness

Yeah, I know the picture has nothing to do with the actual post, but vegetables are good for you, so a reminder doesn't hurt!

It seems like something's strange lately as in the past couple of days I lost a pair of sunglasses, broke my Havaianas and wrecked my pc. Stupid me. The computer is now fixed and faster than ever, thankfully, and I try to view these misfortunes as an excuse to do more shopping, so maybe it's not all bad.

The thing is, sometimes I like it when little mishaps like these happen because it gives me a sense that all the bad energy is spent and a bigger catastrophe is avoided.

Do you believe something like this or am I just making up excuses for my own clumsiness?
