Happiness in 10 easy steps

The lovely blogger Jo tagged me to write 10 things that make me happy. I'm not one to pass up a good list, so here goes! (long post, please bear with me).


1. Dinosaurs
I think I may have mentioned it here before, but I have a small collection of little plastic dinosaurs, mainly vintage ones. I have them neatly displayed on a shelf and looking at them always makes me smile. I love them for no apparent reason, and I'm always on the lookout for more! This horny guy is one of my favourites.


2. My dog
I'm sure everyone who owns a pet can identify with this. It's hard to explain how your pet can make you happy to animal-less people, but they really do. Charlie above is with us for 7 years now and she's a part of the family. I only have to look at her, or rub her belly and I'm instantly smiling!



3. Neil Patrick Harris
He's brilliant, isn't he? Love him, love him, love him. Hilarious, elegant and smart I get all giddy as a schoolgirl when I watch him! (Conan O'Brien is awesome as well!)

4. The Beatles
That's pretty self-explanatory, right?

5. Shoes
Ah, shoes. Is there anything they can't make better? Shoe shopping makes me so happy, I love trying on different pairs and going home with a few lucky ones! I bought some shoes recently, but that's coming in another post. Pictured above is a pair I didn't get, but loved. They were a bit wobbly so couldn't really walk, but they were so, so pretty!

6. Cheesecake
I believe it's a proven scientific fact that desserts make the world a happier place. Cheesecake especially. Everything about it makes me happy. Making it, photographing it, decorating it. Oh yeah, and eating it.

7. Poplie
Poplie is a web radio based in Greece. It has certainly brightened my days since I discovered it. Good music is beneficial for the soul. You can listen here.

8. Books
I can't stop buying books. I have a lot of them on my to-read list, but I can't help myself, reading is a big pleasure of mine. Right now I'm reading The Time Traveler's Wife, an extraordinary love story.

9. Random shots
I snapped this photo on my mobile phone's camera while going to my bus stop. I love random things like that, certain scenes that catch your eye and make your routine a little more interesting. Of course, since I paused to photograph these cats I missed my bus. Oh well.

10. Freaks and Geeks
Created by Paul Feig and produced by Judd Apatow this short-lived show is one of tv's hidden treasures. I'm sure a lot of you know it and love it but for those who don't, I strongly recommend you watch it! You will recognise many of today's tv and film stars, like Seth Rogen and James Franco. It's funny and realistic with a big heart. Win.
