To Dress

So, this past Saturday was the perfect day for a museum stroll downtown, as the weather was sunny and cool and we couldn't let that go to waste, right? Benaki Museum holds a cool exhibition about clothing, from contemporary dresses to traditional costumes from Afghanistan. As the curator states, the exhibition serves as a reminder of the great need to have a Clothing Museum in Greece to collect and preserve all these sartorial treasures.

Acropolis museum + giveaway!

The Acropolis Museum opened its gates a few months ago, and I finally visited it a nice sunny day. The building is sleek and modern, with lots of natural light. I couldn't take any photos of the ancient artifacts and statues, but I can honestly say that there are some pretty amazing and awe-inspiring things inside. Instead, I took photos of the view from the terrace.

After visiting the gift shop (more on that later!), we took a walk around Plaka, the area around the Acropolis. It was quite early so it wasn't crowded, which made for a nice change!

I guess it's true what they say, the best things in life are free!

Gladiator heaven!

Colourful summer dresses and scarves in the shops.

Yummy ice-cream! Love the blue one!

And now, it's time for our giveaway! To enter all you have to do is leave a comment on this post until August 20. The winner will be randomly selected and will receive a pencil, a bookmark and a postcard from the Acropolis museum pictured below.

The winner will be announced here, August 21. Good luck!

Animal instinct

Things are pretty hectic business-wise at the moment, so without much time for blogging I wanted to share with you these pictures from the Museum of Natural History in NYC. Amazing 3-d dioramas for your viewing pleasure. Click pics to enlarge.

Pretty cool, huh?
